Friends of Places for People was created to provide young professionals with an outlet to support Places for People.
Countless lives are affected by mental illness daily. Friends of Places for People is doing its part to help raise awareness so help is available to those in need.
If we can help educate others about the seriousness regarding mental health care in our community, we can in turn develop support for those who cannot afford treatment or who have no where else to turn.
Friends of Places for People assists with marketing, event planning and developing service projects to support the agency. Our major goals are to host our annual signature fundraising event, introduce new members to the work performed by Places for People, and use our creativity to educate others about mental illness.
Stewardship. Friends of Places for People members have a drive to grow into community leaders who support and advocate for mental health.
Real Life Experience. We receive practical experience working with committees, board members and volunteering with a nonprofit organization.
Career Enhancement. We build character and “get our hands dirty” by stepping outside our comfort zones and participating in networking events and service projects.
