The Friday Five provides an opportunity to share stories and links from the past week that challenge the stigma associated with mental illness and substance use, which might otherwise be overlooked.
A collaborative project between six Maryville University students and Places for People produced a new assessment that might one day be used worldwide to help people living with mental illness improve social participation and community integration.
“Barbara Taylor was my mentor for seven years, my colleague for the next 18 years, and one of my heroes always,” Leeper said. “She put her heart, mind, and soul into her work; almost always the last to leave the building.”
