2020 has been a tough year for all of us. It’s a year that has brought challenges like we’ve never seen before. It’s also a year in which the state of our collective mental health has been significantly tested. We are seeing the effects of a stay-at-home lifestyle, removed social engagements and peaking stress levels higher than our charts are built for. It’s tough out there. And we know it.
Yet somehow, as we always do, in the midst of the darkness, we find the light. This year our organization has overcome adversity and continued to provide services. Our organization also managed to move forward with construction of our new 70,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility at 1001 Lynch Street.
This new building will allow us to do everything we currently do better, and so, so much more. We will be able to serve more individuals and families with appropriate office spaces for intake and case management, as well as an on-site pharmacy. It’s also enabling us to serve more St. Louisans in the region. As physical space is growing, so is our capacity.
We are excited to share that we will meet the needs of the most vulnerable, like we always have, as well as individuals who aren’t necessarily vulnerable now, but are working through their mental health and substance use concerns as well.
We’ll have a dedicated entrance and space for youth and family support services that is no longer down the street from the rest of our services, but under the same roof. We also continue to enhance our specialized programming in therapy and psychiatry, as well as our services to support those experiencing substance misuse concerns.
There’s still so much work to be done to ensure that this building is a success. Just to move in the space, during the pandemic, we need even more capacity and even more resources. But this is a journey worth traveling… because of the 2,500 people that we have continued to serve through the pandemic. We need you to join us on the journey. Join us so that we can make the most of our new space, and allocate our financial resources toward helping the people who come through our new, easy-to-access entrances.
We’ve done the math: it only takes 750 gifts of $2,000 to reach our goal! Please consider making a five-year pledge to this campaign so we can move in knowing that we are set for success. That’s just $400/year or $33/month. Visit our campaign page to be a part of this special group of donors.
