Rescue kits make life-saving tool visible, accessible

Places for People has improved access to a life-saving tool in areas where services are provided by installing Naloxone Rescue Kits.

Overall, 20 Naloxone Rescue Kits containing Narcan nasal spray have been installed at Places for People’s service areas, as well as residences in which Places for People provides on-site services. Narcan is a medication used to counter the effects of an opioid overdose.

“We need to make sure they’re visible and normalized in our public spaces. In the event of an emergency, they need to be accessible and ready.” Places for People Medical Director Dr. Meredith Throop said of the kits.

The addition of the kits is just one of the ways that Places for People is increasing access to the life-saving tool.
