Places for People Executive Director Joe Yancey appeared on Show Me St. Louis this morning to discuss how the verdict in the Stockley trial and the emotional days following the decision can impact your health, and how to use coping skills when anxiety arises.
The Journal of Mental Health, an international peer-reviewed journal, recently published the results of a five-year project at Places for People to provide specialized substance use and mental health services to more than 300 people who were experiencing homelessness, alcohol use disorders, and often co-occurring mental health disorders.
A profile of Places for People and the upcoming Certified Community Behavioral Health Center demonstration program is featured in a special report on behavioral health by Modern Healthcare, a weekly, national publication.
Harris Meyer, senior reporter for Modern Healthcare, spent the day conducting interviews at Places for People and in the community on April 17. Meyer is working on a story about the upcoming Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) demonstration program, which begins July 1. The story will appear in the May 28 edition Modern Healthcare.

Art Holliday of KSDK NewsChannel 5 tells the story of the grief and trauma support group for the survivors of homicide victims that meets Thursday evenings at the Demetrious Johnson Charitable Foundation. Among the group’s facilitators are a dedicated group of current and former staff members from Places for People who have volunteered their time to provide support.
Dr. Gary Morse appeared on an Alive and Well STL segment of KSDK NewsChannel 5 on Friday to discuss how to deal with violent times with Art Holliday.
