Volunteer Week 2017: Meet Meredith

Please meet Meredith. For the past 10 months, Meredith has volunteered her time every other Saturday morning leading a wellness group at Places at Page. In the group she discusses nutrition, exercise, healthy choices, and anything else that might come up. The experience has inspired her to pursue a master’s degree in social work at Washington University in St. Louis this fall.

Group Volunteer Experiences Offer Vast Rewards

In 2016, volunteers provided 3,403 hours of service to Places for People!
Volunteering is a rewarding experience that can be even more fun when performed as a group activity. Places for People was proud to be one of the non-profit organizations included by Contegix in its 16 in ’16 service initiative. This program allowed Contegix employees paid time off to volunteer for 16 hours during 2016.

Volunteers from Greentree Community Church Make a Difference at Places at Page

Volunteers from Greentree Community Church helped spruce up the yard at Places at Page on Saturday as part of the church’s 20:28 Serve Our City day of volunteering. This marked the 12th anniversary of the day of service at Greentree, which sends up to 500 volunteers into the St Louis area each year! We are grateful for the volunteers’ hard work and support on a very hot day! Clients will now be able enjoy the flowers, herbs, and vegetables planted this past weekend at Places at Page.
