Collaborative Decision-Making with Your Clients: Practical Strategies for Clinicians
Join Illume The Behavioral Health Center of Excellence on Thursday, June 16th, from 1:00p.m.-3:00p.m. (Central)
Collaborative decision-making is a flexible, person-centered approach to treatment decision-making in mental health care. It empowers clients to have a meaningful voice during the decision-making process and prioritizes each client’s values, identity, and cultural characteristics in each decision. This talk will describe what collaborative decision-making is, why you might want to incorporate it into your clinical practice, and go in-depth about strategies to use to increase collaboration with your clients. Participants will gain knowledge about how to integrate collaborative decision-making into a range of clinical contexts and with a range of different clients so that it works well for them and their clients. The presentation is open to the public. Behavioral health professionals who attend may apply for 2 CEUs.
