Ethics – 9/15 1pm-5pm $45

Ethics Training will provide knowledge and everyday examples of ethical decision making based on the NASW code of Ethic. The primary mission of the social work profession is to enhance human well-being and help to meet the basic human needs of all people, with particular attention to the needs and empowerment of people who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty. Fundamental to social work is attention to the environmental forces that create, contribute to, and address problems in living.

Working with Grieving Persons Served** – 9/16 8:30am-12:30pm $45

This training will allow participants to, 1) obtain knowledge about different types of grief and non-death related losses, 2) identify how their own losses and beliefs about grief and death may impact their work as well as those they serve, 3) identify tools and techniques to help better serve those who have experienced death and non-death related losses, and 4) practice and apply tools and techniques utilized to help those who are grieving.

**Warning: Please note that this workshop will involve exploration of your own personal losses through activities, discussions, and reflection. While participation in these explorations will be voluntary, hearing others share about their experiences, in addition to any explorations you choose to participate in, may result in intense feelings of grief for those who have experienced loss.

Counseling Skills – 9/29 1:00pm-4:00pm $45

MI- 10/12 8am-4pm $80

A framework for understanding an individual’s motivation and resolve ambivalence by enabling people to recognize their own patterns, own their personal outcomes and understand the means by which they will achieve those goals. Clinicians and behavioral health staff utilize motivational interviewing to attend to clients and staff needs in a person-centered way. One – day 8-hour training.

Youth and Adult Signs & Symptoms 10/20 12:30pm-3:30pm $40

The general population often has limited knowledge and misconceptions regarding behavioral health disorders in both children and adults. This can lead to increased stigma surrounding behavioral health disorders as well as delayed treatment. For many individuals with behavioral health disorders, delaying treatment may lead to an increase in symptom severity, an increase in risk factors for safety, and a lower general quality of life. By educating health workers, educators, practitioners, and the general public, it is the hope that the community can begin to combat the stigma against behavioral health disorders and support those experiencing symptoms in getting connected to the resources and interventions they deserve.

CRA – 11/1 and 11/2 9am-4pm $170

Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) is a comprehensive behavioral program for treating substance-abuse problems. It is based on the belief that environmental contingencies can play a powerful role in encouraging or discouraging drinking or drug use. Consequently, it utilizes social, recreational, familial, and vocational reinforcers to assist consumers in the recovery process.

QPR – 11/8 8:30am-10am $35

QPR is an emergency mental health intervention for suicidal persons.  It stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.  Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis, and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
