The Places for People 18th Annual Golf Tournament will be held Friday, September 11, at The Missouri Bluffs Golf Club. The golf tournament is our organization’s longest-running fundraiser, raising more than $600,000 toward our mission since 2003. Andrea M. Patton, Esq., of Lewis Rice LLC is this year’s tournament chair.
Since 2006, we have held the tournament at The Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in St. Charles, which is widely considered to be one of the best championship courses in Missouri with its challenging layout and stunning vistas.
Your support helps our dedicated staff provide opportunities for health + healing for people living with severe mental illness and substance use disorders.
Qualified donors that contribute at least $1,000 or more to Places for People can apply to receive a 50% state tax credit through the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). Donations using NAP Tax Credits will go toward “A Place for Healing” capital campaign to support the renovation of our future home in Soulard.
We have discussed the adjustments that would be necessary to hold the tournament while practicing physical distancing with the course professional, and will implement all best practices to provide a safe environment for participants. This will involve greater implementation of online resources for registration and the silent auction, as well as adjustments to the pre- and post-tournament gatherings.
We will keep you posted on the exact changes this will entail as the tournament approaches.
