Standing in the Balance
A photovoice exhibit on coping with traumatic stress and substance use

Join us as we unveil this photography exhibit that shares the insights of individuals who have lived experience with traumatic stress and substance use.

This Photovoice project aims to empower people to safely cope with and overcome distress.

The opening will be held outdoors. Masks are required and we will practice social distancing measures.

Watch a livestream from the exhibit opening on Places for People’s Facebook page.

This exhibit will be viewable in the window of Red Chair Studios at 2319 Cherokee St, St. Louis, MO 63118, until November 28.

If you have questions or want to learn more about this project, please contact Kyle Brandt-Lubart at kbrandtlubart@placesforpeople.org.

If you have viewed the exhibit, we invite you to participate in the research project.

We are conducting a research study to learn about viewers’ impressions of the photovoice exhibit at Red Chair entitled “Standing in the balance: A photography exhibit on coping with traumatic stress and substance abuse.”

If you are 18 years or older and want to anonymously complete a survey about your experience of the exhibit, follow the link below to complete a survey.
