Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in Serious Mental Illness” covers the topic of the co-occurrence of trauma and PTSD in Serious Mental Illness (SMI).  The focus is on prevalence rates, theories and therapies of PTSD, research findings with therapy approaches for PTSD in SMI, and preliminary data for the evidence based practice of Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD in SMI. Behavioral health professionals who attend may apply for 2 CEUs.

Dr. Pallavi Nishith has 21 years of experience working in the field of trauma and PTSD.  She is currently working in the capacity of Staff Psychologist at Places for People, Inc., and in this capacity is conducting clinical, research, and training work in Trauma, and PTSD in Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
