In 2016, volunteers provided 3,403 hours of service to Places for People!
Volunteering is a rewarding experience that can be even more fun when performed as a group activity.
Places for People was proud to be one of the non-profit organizations included by Contegix in its 16 in ’16 service initiative. This program allowed Contegix employees paid time off to volunteer for 16 hours during 2016. Contegix is a leading cloud, managed application, and IT solutions provider that helps mid-sized businesses simplify infrastructure management, improve productivity, and optimize IT resources.
In 2016, volunteers from Contegix helped clean up the landscaping at Places for People’s main buildings at Lindell Boulevard and West Pine Group Home in September, and at CJ’s Place in the fall. This activity saved Places for People maintenance staff time, and renewed a sense of pride in staff and persons served who use the entrance walkway.
Contegix volunteers also prepared and delivered meals to our Welcome Center for people who are seeking more information about starting services at Places for People.
The efforts performed by volunteers are invaluable to organization, and enhance the services provided by the staff at Places for People.
