Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies recently honored Robin Adkins, Places for People Board member, as one of 12 recipients of the 2016 Volunteer Recognition Grant. Robin works as a Key Account Specialist for Janssen Pharmaceuticals. “This is a very exciting and humbling recognition,” Robin said.
The award recognizes employees who are highly engaged in volunteer efforts through various educational, civic, cultural or religious organizations in their communities, truly making a difference in the lives of the people they serve.
Robin’s leadership, guidance and support have been invaluable to Places for People during her more than 15 years on the Places for People Board of Directors.
“Being in the mental health arena has allowed me to have a deep understanding of the work that Places for People does to help clients who are trying to live with severe mental illness, as well as the struggles that are met head on daily,” Robin said.
Robin works to help reduce the stigma of mental illness and help to provide the best lives possible for everyone served by Places for People. As Board Vice President and Chair of the organization’s development committee, Robin works tirelessly as an advocate for the organization and people living with mental illness.
As part of the recognition, Johnson & Johnson awarded a $10,000 grant in Robin’s name to Places for People.
