This week, Maddie Stewart departs Places for People to enter medical school in pursuit of her dream to become a doctor. The two years Stewart spent at Places for People – first as a volunteer and then as an employee – have made an impact on her future focus. “It’s made me commit to community health as the basis for what I do,” she said.
During National Volunteer Week, we celebrate all of the wonderful volunteers who give time to support Places for People’s mission. Please meet Rose, a graduate student at Washington University in St. Louis, who has volunteered as a tutor at Places for People for more than a year.
Meet Emily, a volunteer in Places for People’s tutoring program to prepare the people we serve for the HiSet test to achieve their educational goals. “My experience as a tutor has taught me so much more than I am able to give back to the clients.”
