Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to our FAQ section! Below, you will find answers to common questions about our policies, procedures, and continuing education unit (CEU) accreditation.
Policies & Procedures
Registration & Attendance: Participants must register in advance to secure a spot in any course or program. Full attendance is required to receive continuing education credit.
Cancellations & Refunds: Refund requests must be submitted at least 14 days before the training start date to be eligible for a refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 14 days before the event or after the course has started.
Code of Conduct: All participants are expected to engage professionally and respectfully. Disruptive behavior, including excessive distractions in virtual trainings, may result in removal from the session without a refund.
Accommodations: Our building is wheelchair accessible, and we are committed to ensuring an accessible learning environment. If you require any special accommodations, please contact us in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
CEU and Certificate Accreditation
Eligibility: Continuing education units (CEUs) are awarded to participants who complete the requirements of the training. Full attendance and active participation are mandatory.
Certification: Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate indicating the number of CEUs earned. CEU certificates and Certificates of Attendance will be sent via email only to individuals who meet all participation requirements.
Approval & Compliance: Our CEU programs comply with industry standards. We recommend verifying with your licensing board to ensure acceptance.
Processing Time: Please allow up to 30 business days to receive your CEU certificate or Certificate of Attendance. If you do not receive your certificate within this timeframe, contact us for assistance.
Virtual Training Expectations
Please remember to log in before the scheduled start time of the training to ensure you are ready when the session begins. Late arrivals may impact eligibility for credit.
For virtual trainings, each learner must be logged in on an individual device. Sharing a device is not permitted, as active participation is required. This will be an interactive session, and all participants must keep their cameras on throughout the training unless otherwise approved by the facilitator.
To receive credit for this training, you must not miss more than 30 minutes of the total session. Any significant disruptions, including prolonged absence or failure to meet participation requirements, may result in ineligibility for CEU credit.
For the best experience, we recommend using a stable internet connection, a quiet environment, and a device with both audio and video capabilities. If you encounter technical difficulties, please reach out before the session begins.
Licensing Profession
Illume provides CEUs for a variety of professions, including but not limited to:
- Social Work (LCSW, LMSW)
- Professional Counseling (LPC)
- Psychology (Licensed Psychologists)
Our CEU programs comply with industry standards and are recognized by the Missouri State Committee for Social Workers and National Association of Social Workers. However, we strongly recommend that participants verify with their respective licensing boards or professional associations to confirm that the CEUs awarded through this program meet the specific requirements for their profession.
Illume is not responsible for ensuring CEU acceptance for individual licenses. Participants are encouraged to check the specific CEU requirements for their profession before registering.
Please take a moment to fill out this survey to help us determine which CEUs we should apply for moving forward: Survey Link.
If you would like to request a profession not listed here, please contact us at Illume@placesforpeople.org.
